Over my ten years as a Member of the UK Parliament, the COVID-19 crisis has surely been one of the most difficult and surreal challenges I have experienced. Constituents have told me of their physical suffering, of job losses, and the pain of not being able to visit their loved ones. This widespread and tremendous difficulty is a somewhat novel experience for many of us in the UK but for countless Christians living in Nigeria, extreme challenges are nothing new.
The UK All-Party Parliamentary Group for International Freedom of Religion or Belief is conducting an inquiry into the ongoing violence between farmers and herders in Nigeria. One of the objectives of the inquiry is to develop a nuanced understanding of the drivers of the conflict and to find possible solutions to the violence.

Yelwata, in Guma LGA, Benue State, was repeatedly attacked on 13 June 2025, 11 August 2025, and again on 19 August 2025 by terrorists. A total of 259 Christians were murdered in the onslaught of assaults.
One of the survivors, Ezekiel, narrated in a video testimony how the terrorists murdered 24 members of his family. He did not escape unscathed: Ezekiel suffered injuries and will bear the scars of the living nightmare that consumed his town.
While all Christians agree that the Lord shall return, there is divergent opinion on whether it was right for anyone, either by revelation, or calculation, to provide a date for his coming. Because of the objection to “date setting”, many Christians are dismissing the call to prepare for the coming of the Lord which some announce would be in September 2025. Bearing in mind the eternal consequences associated with this matter, one is compelled to seek additional insight that may help the saints to make the right decision.

In the past few weeks, social media has been buzzing with various news that Jesus is coming in two weeks to take His own out of planet earth, as prophesied in the Scriptures. That event is referred to as the Rapture of the Church.

PREAMBLE
In compliance with Article 10b and Article 11(iii) of its Constitution, the 2025 Annual General Assembly of Christian Social Movement of Nigeria (CSMN) held virtually on Thursday 28th August 2025 on ZOOM at 4.00 pm. In attendance were the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Samuel Danjuma Gani, CON, and the Chairman of the Governing Council, Elder Sunday Oibe.
The Board of Trustees and the Governing Council of CSMN wish to thank all the brethren who participated in the Annual General Assembly of the Movement which took place today, 28th August 2025. Thank you for making the General Assembly a success.
The displaced Christians expressed deep gratitude for the food and clothes from Lay Faithful and prayed that God will replenish the donors.Unable to rebuild their houses, the survivors lamented that most of the Church buildings were also destroyed. They worship in a building without roofing. Whenever they scraped the funds together to raise resources, vandals would steal and sell off the materials. They appealed for more support to facilitate resettlement and the reconstruction of their homes and churches. Whatever progress the terrorists were unable to steal would always be destroyed in repeated raids..
The Christian Teaching Centre Orphanage accommodates some displaced children from five states: Kebbi, Katsina, Kano, Sokoto, and Zamfara.
Lay Faithful Trust Foundation regularly supplies food to the orphanage to feed the children. A maintenance project to repair the building is under consideration.
